Keyboard / Mouse

I've been thinking about getting a new keyboard and mouse soon and have been looking around quite a bit. I've taken a liking to the Steelseries 7G for its mechanical switches and the Razer Deathadder as i've read countless times it's an outstanding mouse. They are so tempting but i'm just not sure if i can justify spending that kind of money on a keyboard and mouse (close to £100 just for they keyboard).

Does anybody recommend a good keyboard and mouse for heavy gaming use? Whats your opinion on this kind of overpriced 'gaming' equipment? Anybody got either of these and think it's worth the money?

  1. I use a Sidewinder x5 mouse and x6 keyboard. These are pretty low end gaming mice, but honestly, I don't feel a difference between them and high end logitech. Sure the high end stuff may have more features, but are the features important to you? Performance is more or less the same across mice + keyboards, determine whether or not you NEED the extra features. Most of the time you don't.

    Just my opinion.

  2. I'm not sure if they still sell the Deathadder but if you find it you must get it. I got mine 2 years ago and I have to say it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. Definitely worth every cent.

Tho I think a gaming keyboard is useless. The high end ones aren't really any better than the $10 Logitech I have.

  4. Coming from a 1.6 CAL-p player who's been to numerous lans, invest in a MX518 mouse. MX518 plus a qCK heavy mousepad is unbeatable.

  5. I think that if you play games a lot, why not spend out on something beautiful? I've got a hideous keyboard, and I want a gorgeous one despite never really playing PC games.

That mouse looks a little weird, but there are so many gorgeous ones out there, I say go for it! It's worth it when you're happy looking at them :)

  7. Personally prefer the Deathadder over the Steel Series 7G, and for keyboard just get one with backlit keys and you'll be good
